How can we design open systems for people to fill with their own meaning, and share it to the world around them?
Orchestral is a design-led exploration at the convergence of mobile music, emotion and self expression.
It consists of a series of designs created to invite people as wizards in their own scape of sound and color. These open processes were carefully crafted to engage people emotionally and to involve them in making the experience their own.
Based on new and emerging trends, in particular in the field of wearable technologies, a series of prototypes and simulations were created. Not only to investigate different aspects of making mobile music streaming services more intuitive and responsive with regard to your emotional impulses and current moods, but also to try out different approaches to share emotions to people around you, ranging from subtle signals to more expressive ones.
With a research through design process, the aim of these investigations was not to find answers to specific problems but first and foremost to invite for conversations surrounding different mobile music futures and to gain a holistic understanding informing future design direction.
